9:00 a.m. Sunday Morning Service
Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir is a SATB choir that sings every Sunday from the second week in September to the third week of June. They are the lead choir for the 9:00 service and provide anthems and service music. They occasionally provide music for special services throughout the church year.
Membership: members and non–members are welcome to join us. Membership is open to singers who are high school age and upward.
Singing requirements: No audition – but director can help a new member find out what voice type he or she has by listening to the person sing before being placed in a category.
Rehearsal day/time: Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 8:00 to 9:00. Rehearsals start on the first Wednesday in September and go to the middle of June.
Music reading requirements: Members do not have to read music, but it does help.
Chapel Bell Choir
Our church currently owns a 4-octave hand bell set and the Chapel Bell Choir occasionally presents music at the 9:00 service (usually once a month) from September through June. The also provide music for special services.
Membership: members and non–members are welcome to join us. Membership is open to singers who are high school age and upward (some middle school students are welcome, provided they are in a band or orchestra situation at school)
Rehearsal day/time: Currently, this choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 7:00 – prior to adult bible study.
Music reading requirements: It is recommended that the members should have a “working knowledge” of the notes they play in the music and an understanding of rhythm. Players should be able to identify their particular notes that they play in the music and have beginning knowledge of rhythm and beat.
New Horizons Band
This band plays at the 11:00 service for a “plugged in” experience during worship. Currently, the band consists of lead and bass guitars, percussion, keyboard and vocalist and we have room for more! The band is always in need of fresh faces to help bring the worship experience to our congregation and even other instruments to augment the music for special music. The band usually rehearses on Thursday evenings. If you are interested in finding out more, please contact Randy Pellett, our contemporary music director.
Voices From Above
This choir is our youth choir that sings at selective times during the year (September through June). Depending upon the voices available, this choir sings two to 4 part pieces. This is a great group for youth to join – especially if they want to sing a variety of sacred music outside of the realm of the public schools.
Membership: Members and non–members are welcome to join us. Membership is open to singers who are in middle school to high school.
Singing requirements: No audition – but director can help a new member find out what voice type he or she has by listening to the person sing before being placed in a category. In addition, director can line up a singer with voice lessons.
Rehearsal day/time: Currently, this choir rehearses on Sunday evenings at 6:00 p.m., prior to the Torch youth group meeting.
Music reading requirements: Members do not have to read music, but it does help.
Heaven’s Voices
This choir is our children’s choir that also sings at selective times during the year (September – June). Depending upon the number of children, the choir sings unison or 2 part pieces.
Membership: Members and non–members are welcome to join us. Membership is open to singers who are in kindergarten through the fifth grade.
Singing requirements: Singers just need a willingness to sing and be able to work with others in a group.
Rehearsal day/time: Currently, this choir rehearses on Sundays at 12:00 noon – after the 11:00 service. Other times may be considered during the fall.
Music reading requirements: Members do not have to read music or even have reading ability of text. Members are encouraged to bring a recording device to help in learning the music.
